Measuring Blockchain Proficiency

Understanding how proficient study participants are with a specific technology is a critical piece of information to interpret user studies in Human Computer Interaction. Measuring how the proficiency of people at scale over time would allow to track technology adoption within a population over time.

The goal of this thesis is to develop a measurement instrument to reliably determine the proficiency level of a person with regards to a technology – here specifically blockchain. What are sound definitions of novices to experts? What are relevant items with regards to blockchain? How reliable and valid is the developed measurement instruments?
